1. General Provisions

1.1. Synchronist ("Application") uses Google API for text translation. The use of Google API is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy.

1.2. By using the Application, you agree to the processing of your data in accordance with this policy.

1.3. Beta Disclaimer: The Platform is currently in beta testing. Users acknowledge that some features may not work as intended, and the service may be modified or discontinued at any time. The Service Provider is not responsible for any temporary interruptions, data loss, or unintended results.

2. Data Collection and Usage

2.1. The Application may collect:

  • User-entered text (for translation);
  • Technical data (IP address, device information).

2.2. Data is used solely to provide the Application's functionality and is not shared with third parties except for Google API.

2.3. We do not use collected data for advertising, profiling, or resale to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Protection

3.1. Currently, user data is stored only on the user's device or transmitted to Google API for translation without being stored on our servers.

3.2. Future Data Storage Notice: In future updates, once the Didactist API is integrated, certain user data (such as authentication and preferences) may be stored on secure servers. Users will be notified in advance, and any data storage will be conducted in compliance with GDPR and Portuguese data protection laws.

3.3. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These measures include:

  • Secure servers for data storage (when applicable);
  • Access control and encryption technologies;
  • Monitoring and logging of system access;
  • Limiting employee access based on necessity.

3.4. No method of data transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

3.5. In case of a data breach that poses a risk to user rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities within 72 hours, as required under GDPR.

4. User Rights

4.1. Users have the right to:

  • Request access to their personal data;
  • Request correction or deletion of their data (except where retention is required by law);
  • Restrict or object to data processing;
  • Request data portability in a structured, machine-readable format;
  • Withdraw consent for data processing where applicable;
  • File complaints with supervisory authorities under GDPR.

4.2. Requests will be processed within 30 days. Users may contact us to exercise these rights.

5. Third-Party Services and Cookies

5.1. The Application integrates Google API, which acts as a data processor for translation services. Users should review Google’s Privacy Policy for further details.

5.2. We do not control or endorse third-party services linked from our platform and are not responsible for their data practices.

5.3. Cookies Notice: The Application may use cookies to improve user experience and track service usage. Users can control cookie settings via their browser. For more details, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

6. Children's Privacy

6.1. The Application is designed for users aged 13 and older. Users under 13 may only use the Application with verifiable parental or guardian consent, in accordance with GDPR and Portuguese data protection laws.

6.2. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will take immediate steps to delete such data.

7. Changes to the Policy

7.1. We may update this policy and will notify users of significant changes. Continued use of the Application after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
